Trieste Vacation Guide
Trieste is a small city in the north of Italy close to the Slovenian border. It is a port town on the Adriatic Sea. Formerly part of Austria, it became part of Italy at the end of WWI.
A walk around the city reveals some Art Nouveau and neoclassical architecture along with other interesting sights. There are lots of main sights in Trieste including castles, churches, ancient roman arches, an ancient roman theater, monuments, gardens, caves and a few museums.
There are also nice beaches nearby with crystal clear waters. Trieste offers plenty of places to stay as well as an abundance of cafes to try. A walk to the cathedral will show great views of Trieste Bay and the town/harbour.
