Trieste Ferries Reviews
Finding and using the Ferries Aug 30, 2009
There are a number of ferries that operate out of Trieste harbour. Some are short haul to closeby towns such as Muggia or Barcola and others are longer to Grado or even other countries.
When I was there the toursts maps showed ferries to different destinations leaving from any of the 3 main piers. I found they all leave from the long pier (maginificent view it was called).
Ferries stopped regulary but there was no signs at all and no ticket offices or schedules so you need this information in advance. I had the schedule and times for the Grado ferry and it never turned up, wasted 2 hours waiting for it and ended up on the bus so be warned that schedules online may not be up to date, it is best to call first.
