Affordable sushi with a twist in an absolutely funky decor, in the heart of the Plateau Mt-Royal Jun 28, 2013
Made famous by the Royal Clam stint on a live TV show named "Des Kiwis et des hommes" (look out for "Palourde Royale" on Youtube!), tattoo-bearing chef Tri is a star in Montreal food world.

What you MUST try: All the items with the mention "À la Tri" comes in little pile of tempura, caviar-like eggs and

garnish, built on a crispy rice cracker.

L'Inattendue Sushi Pizza is also a great pick.

All sushis are made when ordered; you can tell by the crispiness of the tempura!

Staff is really helpful in explaining the menu and all the differents sushis; feel free to ask questions!

If you're a traditional sushi lover, this might not be your place; Tri Express' is part of the "New Wave Sushi Chef" that

bring non-traditional ingredients and method to the sushi art. If you like good food, you won't be disappointed.

The restaurant's decor is eclectic, fashionably-kitsch and incredibly entertaining to look at! It's a tiny place, better make reservations, especially for dinners, Thursday through Sunday. If you can't get a table, you can also make you order to take away!
