Trófea Grill Étterem Budapest Reviews
Not all that bad, rolled happilly all the way back to the Hotel Aug 11, 2012
Located not far from our hotel, we stumbled across the Trofea Grill whilst trying to find another Restarant along the same street and decided to give it a whirl on our last night.
Whilst the majority of these 'All you can eat' places leave a lot to be desired, especially due to excessive amounts of dishes on offer and the overall quality of the food, I felt this place wasnt all too bad at all( well the food I ate anyway).
We hadnt made a reservation, and although the restaurant was more or less full on the Tuesday night, we were shown to our tables and told the deal. We ordered drinks first and made our way over to the Buffet, and no queues!! To Start there was a wide selection of Salads and pasta, salami and cheeses, Sushi, foie gras, tartar, ham rolled in horseradish, fresh ginger. On the soup stand naturally Gouyas, meat soup with dumplings(didnt really rate this to be honest, but tried at another restaurant and was the same) and some Vegatable soup of some description. on the mains there was Chicken, Pork and Venison with Burgundy sauce on offer, the latter I thought was quite nice and went down well with a hearty dollop of mash and a few veggies.
There is a grilled meat and fish (of course) on offer, and although the pieces being quite small is tasty enough with some veggies and/or salad. The only slight was the guy working on the grill; he did come across as not being bothered to wait around while diners selected or purused the 20 or so choices or so on offer, However the table service was pleasant and friendly enough, taking away our plates when finishing each dish and asking if we'd like more drinks.
All in all a pleasant experience, Id consider going once more if or when in Budapest again
