Terrific situation for gardens Nov 19, 2010
I have mentioned in another review (St Just in Roseland) the Carrick Roads, an inlet of the sea between Falmouth and St Mawes that has creeks and the River Fal as parts. Near the top of the main tidal estuary is one of the loveliest mainland ferry crossings in Britain, the King Harry Ferry. Just above this and with marvellous views over the Carrick Roads are the Gardens of Trelissick, owned by the National Trust.

Trelissick shares with other Cornish gardens the ability to grow numerous plants that are difficult or even impossible to grow in other parts of Britain but the walks and views are such that even a person with little interest in botany could enjoy a visit.
