I didnt do this , but think that many trecks run from up north anyway

Chiang Mai and places like that .

There are also budhist school places in Thialand where u can can stay and train in yoga and meditation .

There used to be a really good Thai info site called Thaismile , but it seems to have gone .

The day tour to the retreat palace Yayodya (or something like that) , is good and returns by riverboat (to Bangkok) and is recommended .
