Travelodge Mirambeena Resort Darwin Reviews
nice and close to the city Apr 24, 2010
I travel to Darwin a lot and have stayed here a few times.
It is a big hotel that has a lot of things going for it, and falls down in certain areas.
when you first arrive it has a huge reception area, that is open 24 hours.
Staff are friendly and helpful and always seem to be busy.
It has two very separate areas, an outside area of rooms which i think is predominantly smoking rooms and then there is a traditional hotel inside area which of course...i think is for mostly non smokers.
It has a large carpark and some under cover parking as well.
The Mirambeena has a really nice restaurant name 'The Treetop' and serves very nice meals.
Rooms that i have stayed in have been of your average hotel style room, a touch out dated but i generaly choose to stay outside...this is odd because i am a non smoker, however the reason i choose this is because of the pool these rooms over look...it isn't the biggest pool but it is a great one, has a fake rockery and a waterfall coming into the pool...this is one of a few pools at the hotel, which is a must in Darwin...trust me.
It also has two spas.
There is a bar and outside dining area poolside where they will also supply more towels.
There is a BBQ area but have never used it.
Strangely? there is also i great little mini golf course that adds a different feel.
In the middle of the dry season and even the wet, Darwin is a great place to be, full of backpackers and other travelers. This hotel is really close to all the hustle an bustle of Darwin, but far enough away to not be disturbed by drunk travelers or rowdy locals.
I will definitely stay here again.

If not sure where to Stay, I Recommend here for Darwin Apr 20, 2010
This is the hotel we stayed at in Darwin, in Northern Territory state of Australia in April 2010
It was our first stop of a Contiki tour, where the company stays at.
It is a good decent hotel that is located in Darwin, it is close to several retail and grocery stores.
As well walking distance to several eating places and entertainment aspects of immediate area.
On arrival, check in was quite good and done in a very timely fashion. Staff were quite friendly and did offer good direction and advice.
Room stayed in was a quad share, it was very basic. It was probably the lowest quality of rooms of the entire hotel. Our Air conditioner did leak something and a weird mildew smell was in place. Bathroom door did not lock, however a plenty full amount of towels was provided. Beds were a little small and some where either too hard or too soft. The room was quite clean though, so that was a good thing.
Hotel had a nice pool area, and plenty of nice lawn chairs and a on site bar area for those wanting entertainment at the pool area. Had many nice mini water falls in the pool area that made it quite presentable.
Hotel had a good breakfast area, that offered a nice morning buffet of all types of great food. It was included, however if you were to pay for it, it was like over 30 bucks for a meal.
There is an internet kiosks in the hotel, that were about one dollar a minute or so.
Overall it is a good place to stay as I would recommend this for people to stay at when in Darwin.
Good for backpackers, singles , couples and perhaps families as well.

Top-end time out Dec 17, 2009
I had to stay in Darwin for a night because of flight schedules and I found the Travel Lodge Mirambeena after a quick internet search. It seemed to tick all the boxes from this side of the computer and I'm happy to report the boxes were all ticked from the moment I was greeted at reception by the smiling hostess behind the counter.
The rates were good at AU$74 for the night and the room was what I would expect for that price -king beds, bathroom, tea making facilities and TV with an adequate selection to keep me entertained for the evening.
If I didn't want to stay in the room I could make my way down to the Pool Bar for a beer or two. Called the pool bar because it opens out onto the Mirambeena's several swimming holes well laid out in a courtyard so the kids can have fun without having to be making waves in your water hole. A sundeck close at hand allows one to swap in and out of the pools all day if that's what you're in to but with the Pool Bar and the Treetops Restaurant surrounding the courtyard you can easily eat drink, suntan and swim the hours away.
The hotel has 3 highrise wings of rooms as well as 32 self contained town houses but there weren't too many people around when I was there as the peak season in Darwin is the Aussie winter (May-October) from what I've heard.
There is a good conference facility in the main building and plenty of covered parking if it's not all pleasure you've come to Darwin for. It's also just two blocks from the heart of Darwin CBD.
As I said, it ticks all the boxes.

Good place to stay, near by centre Oct 16, 2009
This hotel is a nice place to stay. It's near by the centre of Darwin with Lot's of shops, Internet facilities and places to go out for diner and clubbing. Even a nice Irish pub is in the neighbourhood. After being in the outback for a while this hotel makes you feel your in heaven. Just having a washing machine was sooo good. The staff is very friendly and there is even a nice swimming pool to cool down in. On walk distance there is a nice beach. But be careful there is no shop around there so bring a lot of water with you. We forgot to bring something with us and the nearest shop was quite a long walk. So good luck with that one. :p
