Traunreut Vacation Guide
Traunreut is a relatively new city that was created after World War II. During the war an ammunitions factory was located at this site, but after 1945 this was taken over by Siemens. Many refugees from Eastern Europe settled in the area, laying the foundations for Traunreut.
That is one of the reasons why Traunreut has a more modern feel and few sights. But it is located in a very beautiful part of Germany, the "Berchtesgadener Land" and many of its outer city districts are probably worth a visit just for the scenery and their quaint town squares.
