Delicious and affordable! Dec 24, 2009
Living in Bologna for the year, I became acquainted with a wonderful food culture. Italian food can be sublime. In Bologna you have the luxury of fine dining for a more that reasonable price tag. Il Rosso is no exception.

Me and my ERASMUS friends often dined here during the evenings, it is however open during lunch hours. The menu of the day can be purchased for only 8 Euros, including a tasty 3 courses. If however you would like to splash out, I can fully suggest the following:

1. The stinco: It's basically a giant slab or succulent meat. No more no less, just give it a go!

2. The Lasagna: Probably the best Lasagna I have ever tasted, even in Italy!

The Trattoria is basically a traditional Italian setting that serves up home cooked food. The setting appears authentic and the ambiance is energetic, yet not too rowdy. Located under the Portico (Undercover walkway), the restaurant is easily reached in bad weather and is also surrounded by a myriad of bars. It is in the heart of the student district after all!

If you want to sample some real Italian cooking at a realistic price, give this place a whirl!
