Brilliant, Authentic Roman-Jewish Cuisine in a Fascinating Part of Town May 20, 2009
As popular and well-known as this place is, I'm honestly shocked that no one has reviewed it on here yet. Da Giggetto is a historic, family-owned operation in Rome's infamous Jewish Ghetto. Located just beside the Portico d'Ottavia and near the Tiber, this is an excellent place to stop for lunch or dinner during your day out in Rome.

House specialties include authentic Roman-Jewish dishes such as carciofo alla guidia (deep-fried artichokes, jewish-style) and fiore di zucchina ripieno (deep-fried zucchini flowers stuffed with cheese and a hint of anchovy). I can personally recommend these dishes as well as their delicious pastas.

A real cultural experience at reasonable prices (for Rome). I wholeheartedly recommend Da Giggetto to anyone interested in experiencing food with truly unique Roman personality.
