Trattoria Da Vito Bologna Reviews
good stuff in Bologna Sep 05, 2009
I went there again last night and want to write an addendum to my original review.
Yes, Trattoria Da Vito is a rustic place with good prices, but the food quality has dropped. We got a steak that was all fat&gristle, the parmesean on the table tasted like cardboard and also numerous dishes/ingredients on their menu have been previously frozen.
If you go, get wine and traditional bolognese dishes like tagliatelle or the stinco.
Trattoria Da Vito in Bologna is your hardcore rustic Italian-Bolognese restaurant. That means no frills, the service is terrible, the tableclothes are checkered red and white, the wine has never been bottled and comes straight from their cantina, is GOOD and costs pennies, the food is delicious- especially the stinco di maiale (pork shank), the gramigne (curly pasta) with sausage, or penne with gorgonzola & walnuts. If you want a real rustic experience in Bologna with good food at a good price, I really recommend going here. If you can banter with the waiters, all the better.
