Cheap transportation Aug 25, 2008
Moto bike here and there. Don't fall for that people. here in Vietnam, motorbike drivers doesn't have any shame on their body for over pricing the fare when they ask a foreigner for a ride. Doesn't matter how far or close it is. 20000 is the least you can give. but thats for just a kilometer. wait till the clock ticks. ofcourse theres no clock, but its like a Cab, once it gets a bit far, they will not complain about it, but once you get to your destination then they will ask for more. Dont be fooled also by the whole ride that you'll only pay what you both agreed, if you have someone with you, make sure its for the two of you already, because they will ask for a fare of two once you're there. Instead of 20000VND, it turns out its 40000VND. hey, its for two person. Motorbike rides also has like 98% of accidents every year.So its much better to take a cab. its 12000VND and 1500 every kilometer. a bus is more cheaper.. if you wanna go to some places far from the city, take the bus in front of Benh Thanh market. its only 3000VND per ride. Cheap isn't it? you can get all the way to Damsen waterpark and some places all around Saigon. It operates around 6 A.M up to 7:30 P.M. All buses may not be that new but its all Air-Conditioned. Just make sure though that once you hopped in, try to be a little bit faster because the downside to riding the bus is that the driver seems to be so eager to go. so doesnt matter if you're still at the door of the bus, he will start driving. well, thats normal here in Vietnam.
