Tranquilo Santorini - This was a yoghurt and Greek honey smoothie, so so yummy!!! Pretty heavy too!!!
Tranquilo Santorini - Tranquilo's tomatokeftedes, or tomato balls, a dish Santorini is renowned for.

Tranquilo Santorini - Opening night of the FIFA '14 world cup, what better way to celebrate than have a very Brazilian looking cocktail!!!

Wonderful chilled out beach bar... By the beach, of course!!! Jul 16, 2014
The first thing you notice is the furnishing and lighting, colourful decor and wide variety of comfortable seating available, both inside, and outside the bar. So much so that choosing a place to sit down can be quite challenging at times, they all look that welcoming.

Next, the sound of various styles of relaxing music playing through the speakers (some days it was Indian lounge, some days it was reggae, and some days, tunes with distinctive Arab influences), the relaxed chatter and laughter of guests and staff alike, and the cool sea breeze blowing through the open front of the restaurant, all adds up to this place having such incredible atmosphere. One can literally spend hours here, just doing nothing, even, and not wanna move an inch...

The staff of the restaurant were all so friendly, and while making sure that you have everything you need as and when you need it, they make it a point to make you feel at home, and to not rush you. In fact, they often encourage you to just stay a while longer, relax, and enjoy. One thing I liked particularly is that the service staff don't just serve a designated zone in the restaurant, but roam around attending to anyone who needs assistance, or even just stopping to have a chat.

Now, on to the main thing, as far as bars and restaurants go... The food and drink. Tranquilo undoubtedly served the best food I had in all my time in Greece. There is a pretty decent variety of starters and mains, and one can reasonably say that visiting them a few times, you can easily get a taste of quite a bit of what Greek cuisine has to offer.

Portions are massive, especially the salads, which seem to have been designed to feed battalions, not normal people!!! LOL! Don't make the mistake of underestimating what they mean when they say 'giant' salad... Particularly, I enjoyed the tomatokeftedes here, and the wild rice, veggies and chicken plate too was heavenly.

The smoothies and cocktails too are pretty amazing, and certainly don't lack in any way. The smoothie concoctions were really interesting using a lot of local ingredients that Greece is famous for, as well as some more exotic ones, for the region. They're so thick that trying to slurp one down really fast would probably end with you being more tired than anything. A couple of cocktails here (also some very interesting ones), would surely help you feel like you're walking on air. I guess its all adds towards the ends of making the guest feel relaxed and chilled out, and wanting to just spend more and more time there...

Well, mission accomplished, they certainly achieve their objective of giving their guests a wonderfully 'tranquilo' experience.

As for pricing, I'd actually say that food is very reasonably priced, considering the size of the portions, and the only reason I have marked it as average is that smoothies and cocktails are priced slightly higher than average (but I guess it really isn't too bad, compared t other places in Santorini, AND it's still definitely worth it).

All thumbs up, I highly recommend that you give Tranquilo a try. In four days there, I visited them on three, and the I didn't on the other day is that I wasn't in Perissa all day!
And here it is, Tranquilo!
