Avoid ticketing problems Jul 09, 2013
It is best to buy your tickets, which are the same for bus and tram, at a bookstall near the stop or a tobacconist. This at least prevents you from being rocked about whilst using the ticket machine on the bus or tram. If you are unable to do this, you will need some coins with you. The first time I was begging around the bus for change, which in general people are loath to give up. Of course you might as well try to estimate how many tickets you will need for your trip and buy them at the same time but don't forget you will need a more expensive ticket for a ride above 20 minutes (such as to the salt mine) than for local trips (such as to the Jewish Quarter.)
