Great Diner in Penn Station New York May 02, 2008
You know you're screwed when you have to meet someone for lunch in the Penn Station area. There are no good restaurants around. Well, except one that's hiding right under your nose. Adjacent to the LIRR ticket booths, Tracks awaits the confused commuter, particular pedestrian or the busy businessman. While it brags about its raw bar that I'm sure is great, I just can't bring myself to eating subterranean raw seafood (if it were a ocean-side clam bar that'd be another story, but then again I don't go to Penn Sta. to vacation). However, their burgers are great and in the summer they make a mean lobster tail wrap. Unlike the rest of the Penn eateries, Tracks's seating is quiet and nicely maintained. Except at night when it has live Jazz! Tracks is an unlikely find that will come in handy when you least expect it.
