The Most Disappointing of the Seven Dec 22, 2008
Tower Hamlets... I was expecting more. Maybe Highgate and Brompton had made for high expectations. Tower Hamlets just didn't live up to them.

Opened in 1841, the cemetery these days is more of a wildlife preserve in the East End. You won't find many mausoleums or interesting graves here. And the place does get muddy after the rain, so wear good shoes.

Still, it makes for a nice exploration. Just don't expect any of the grandeur of the other six.

To get there, take the Tube to Mile End. The cemetery is only a short walk from there.
