Spent 5 days in Tortuguero, CR visiting the turtles and helping out. Enjoyed some beatiful sights and great food. Pura vida

    The only way to get to/from Bannanito Norte is by the back of trucks and the only way to get to/from Tortuguero is by boat. Therefore, when we left Bannanito Norte at 6am, we headed out on the back of those trucks again, then got in yet another bus, then got on a boat. (I was thrilled to have my own seat on the bus so I could sleep, that I couldn't have cared how many transportation switches we made.)     The boat ride to the Evergreen Lodge, where we were go...

The private lodges at Tortugero can only be reached after hours on rough roads and another 90 minutes boat shuttle. We stopped at a banana packing station, interesting to see but you don´t want to think too much about all those airplanes nearby dropping insecticids during the night...I can´t tell much about Tortugero except for the way to the lodge - this day I was too lazy to do anything, so I put myself with my book and a cool cocktail at the pool...

We used only a small red light to look at the turtles. We saw big ones laying eggs, and closing there nest. Even a few small ones hedding for the Sea. Gorgeous.
