Trekking is awesome !!! Aug 31, 2015
Top station is 35.5 kms from Munnar. This place in Munnar, is the place for trekking. You have to walk a while and go through steps to reach this place. But, you wanna take risk of walking as the view along the path is breathtaking. Don't forget to carry your cam. The Picturesque view from here is amazing. You can see only the clouds among the hills. There are many trekking groups who conduct frequent trekking trips (for 2-3 hours) into the Pampadum Shola forests and National Park which comes under Tamilnadu Government, as it lies in the forests on Theni District. The Pampadum Shola is a deep forest bordering Kerala and Tamilnadu. This place is also famous for being the spot for Neelakurinji (Strobilanthes kunthiana)flowers, which blooms once in 12 years. So, this hill is also called blue hills. The climate is very chill here. Please carry warm clothes. Apart from Trekking, the forest officers, conduct safaris. The private trekking groups also provide to do rappelling, tent camping. Visit this place at your trip to Munnar. The guides are very much experienced. So, don't worry. Food is not allowed in the forest. Please be careful about the wild and exotic flowers which can be very dangerous. When in trekking the Pampadum Shola, you may reach to Vattavada, a village Idukki District, Kerala.

Take help of the Locals !!! Aug 31, 2015
Please don't forget to ask the locals for any need. They can be handy at times. Be clear what you want to do and where you want to go. Don't blindly rely upon your own knowledge or your smart phone. As, the real experience might be different than what your smart phone shows. get your doubts cleared by asking your guide or the local. Never be shy to ask questions. If your are not able to walk further kindly inform so that in any need you may get help. Don't let it happen at the last moment. Be prepare for anything well in advance. :) ;)

The amazing Munnar May 29, 2011
If you visit South India you have to check out Munnar! It is a breathtaking city with tea plantations and mountains and the best chai in India. I recommend you find a place to stay a little bit outside the main city where you can watch the sun going down behind the mountains while the fireflies are dancing in the valley.

Good food at T&U with a View Jan 22, 2009
This restaurant called 'Top Station' is located inside the T&U Leisure Hotel. It's quite a nicely decorated hotel and has an inviting atmosphere as you walk inside, especially when you make your way to the hotel restaurant 'Top Station', which has a wonderful window vista surrounding the inviting dining area.

The menu was composed of standard Indian cuisine, but with a good variety of selections. The menu was modest and not overdone, but well arranged, and in keeping with the style of the hotel. The staff seemed very attentive and professional too. We ordered our lunch meals, enjoyed the views and waited to see if the food matched the atmosphere. The landscapes were quite nice to view while waiting.

The food was really quite good, not exceptional, but a step above average I think. The exceptional window views, polite staff, and nice decor, added to a step above average in food quality, make this a place worth stopping for lunch in my experience. Based on what I saw, I think this looks like a decent hotel also. I forgot to ask what T&U stood for, and I can only speculate now, but Tea & You perhaps, and it is in the heart of Teascape country in Munnar.

Unbelievable scenic beauty of mountain ranges!! Sep 05, 2009
Top station is about 32 km away from Munnar. It is about 2,000 meters above sea level.

I had taken a bike from the Spice Garden Resort to travel to Top Station. The entire road from the resort to Top Station is full of a variety of scenic views. The only problem is that the last couple of kilometres' of road is extremely bad. I had to park my bike about one and a half kilometres before Top Station and walk the distance.

(I would say that you should not drive the vehicle, be it a car or a bike, unless you are a skilled driver. You should hire a taxi with a LOCAL driver to reach this place.)

Once you reach this place, you're taken aback by the extraordinarily scenic view of the mountain range. Tall mountains, taller mountains behind them, small village in the valley below, the terrific was a heavenly feeling.

Unfortunately, I'm not a very good photographer and hence could not capture the beauty of the place as well as I would have liked to.
I think this was taken just a litt…
