Tone on Lex

It was a little tough to find - the door entrance that is. Do not ring the bell up the main doors, as the entrance is at the basement of the brownstone building, under the stairs.

The staff were nice when me and my friend checked in, except for the moody housekeeper lady - but she was pregnant and an obnoxious asshole of a roommate was calling her names, so I probably just seen her at a really bad time.

They had good mattress on the ground floor room I stayed in, and I liked how the shower and toilet were separated in the room, as two girls in my previous hostel who decided to go both at the same time took more than 30 minutes to use the restroom.

It is very near the metro, only a block and a half or so. It is conveniently located near restaurants and store/pharmacy where you can buy whatever necessities you didn't bring along. It's 4-5 blocks from a McDonalds=)

Unfortunately though, there was a mouse in the room I stayed in, as my friend forgot to eat and put away some cookies he bought at the grocery making for a quick snack of the little rodent.

If it were not for the mouse incident, this would probably had been me and my friend's favorite hostel out of the two others we stayed at while in NYC (Int'l Student Center and Big Apple Hostel).
