Toluca de Lerdo, or Toluca is the capital of Mexico State. Toluca was founded in 1522 by Christian missionaries.
The city is 60 kms west of Mexico City. Nearby is the Nevado de Toluca Volcano, which is over 4,500 meters high. Toluca is the highest city in Mexico, located 2,700 meters above sea level. The average temperature is 13C degrees.
Many beautiful buildings are here to explore, great examples of baroque, neoclassical, modernist and contemporary architecture.
