A few things I've noticed during my first day in Japan, that I find interesting:Taxi drivers all wear suits, and Taxi doors automatically open for you.People are exceedingly friendly and customer service is better than any other place I've seen, yet people are not tipped.There is an obsession with things French. Today we are leaving Kyoto for Tokyo on the Nozomi bullet train. Kevin is flying home while I continue to Taiwan!Since our hotel in Kyoto is right above the train station, it was a short walk to the platform. We took the fast Nozomi bullet train from Kyoto to Tokyo, with very few stops. In the bullet trains, you can feel the train banking when it makes a long curved turn, pretty neat! The next morning we woke up early and went to the Edo Tokyo Museum, which was very impressive. They had everything from Jomon-era pottery and Samurai swords to an amazing exhibit on Japan's role in World War II. There was a whole section dedicated to the artwork of school children in Hiroshima during the time of the bombing which was paired with a documentary that was playing on a screen next to it.
