Man, I cant believe that I've been to Japan! Me, Yahooey-San! Im far away from the sun and sand of Bahamaland. Im in the land of video games, electronics, neon signs and custom Mitsubishis, Toyotas and Nissans, oh I cannot forget Mt Fuji-San! *Hey, Im not a rhyme master, so sue me!* I enjoyed my trip to the Land of the Rising Sun where the old world "high fives" the modern world. I enjoyed the view of Mt Fuji and the trip on the bullet train. Take it from me Tokyo is a must visit!

This trip was totally out of the blue, whilst on my Working Holiday Visa in New Zealand, I needed to get away from windy Wellington so I chose this strange combination. I was spoilt with beautiful deserted Motu in the South Pacific and amazed at the Japanese culture, its a Country like no other I've ever witnessed, a place I fell in love with and hope to return very soon.

Started working for a Japanese CNC manufacturer Miyano Machinery, and was sent out to Japan for some factory visits. Already with the Japan Rail Pass, they were gracious enough to give us a few days for exploration in this beautiful country.

I get to Shinjuku st. and no one speaks any english. they just point and nod.So after 1 hour and 5 different ticket counters I find out I'm in the wrong place:O) I get to the subway and everthing is in japanies, but not to worry, because you just have to know where you a going... yes yes, no problem.

The ride on the bullet train from Kyoto to Tokyo was awesome. Andrea was really lucky that I am a good friend because I woke her up twice to see important things while we were traveling.

It rained the morning...so there wasn't that many tourists in Arasaka where sennoji is located. Because it was a national holiday, there weren't that many shops open. Chiziji fish market would have been amazing if it was open;; They say the freshest fish are available here  Fortunately some sushi restaurants were open and I ate tuna on rice(I don't remember the name) which was fantastic! The rain stopped in the afternoon, so I headed for Harajuku, Omotesando, Meiji Shrine and SHibuya....

Awsome country! Efficent, efficient, efficient. Makes Los Angeles look 3rd world. I was so overstimulated. Everything was interesting. I think we spent an hour and a half just in a pharmacy alone. Love the masks. Everyone wears dr. style masks around town to keep out the germs. If you sneezed people literally jumped! Got to love it. Another favorite was the vending machnes that serve hot cans. The rail system is easy and wonderful. Get your JR pass at home first. Saves tons of cash. Hostels a...

The Peter Allen song starts "I've been to cities that never close down, New York and Rio and old London town" So I thought why not use the song to plan my trip? Add Tokyo and Lisbon, starting Dec 5. Include New years eve and Carnival in Rio and check the Iguazu falls from the Argentine side. My good friend Dave Wylie found me an apartment in Copacabana right near the beach, another good friend from my home in Surfers Paradise, Sudzie, said "hey mate I am coming with you to Rio".

Despite being awake and on the road for nearly 24 hours, I'm doing pretty well.  I managed to find my way from the airport to the bus station on my first try, with only 2 Japense words - "kippu", which means "ticket" and "yoyaku" which means "reservation".  Now I have two and a half hours to kill before I get on the 8 hour bus to Kyoto and finally get some fucking sleep.  So I haven't seen much of Tokyo yet, apart from the subway and Tokyo station, but here are my first impress...
