Fast fun and a little dangerous for the adrenaline kick :) Aug 28, 2008
This is a must for those who enjoy downhill sledge. There are a lot of turns as well as people to watch out for while going down this Korketrekkern. I've been here myself and i've enjoyed myself to the fullest. This is a place where all ages come to have fun even if you should consider the fact of brining too young children here since the speed might be too much for some. If you don't like falling over in the snow or getting snow up in your face this is not the place to go, if you do GO:)

Most people have their own racing sledge, but for those who are just visiting here in Oslo don't bring one or go out and by one for a day :) So the positive thing is that you are able to rent a sledge for the day and the prices are as following:

Adults Rental per. day 80 kr
Children Rental per. day 50 kr

It is recommended that you wear a helmet for safety. The ride takes normally 6-9 min if the conditions are normal then it takes 13 min by subway (t-banen) back up to the top to go all the way down again. Korketrekkeren has been here since approx.1900.
People come here for fun and you will not only find children here but families, organized groups as well as many others. Its for all ages so don't hesitate just go and enjoy yourself. I know i will this winter...:)

I'll get some photo's for winter time but in the mean while photo's from the internet will have to do to give you an idea what it looks like:)

Hi there Aussienordic:) During his 3 month there should be some snow for sure..Sometimes the snow comes as early as November but i am sure he'll get the chance to go there and have a lot of fun before he leaves Norway:o) Sometimes winter here seems like forever hehe

My son is going there next week, (Oct) for three months. will it be open and will it be ready for sledging, or does the snow come later in February?
