Tobacco Caye Vacation Guide
Tobacco Caye is a tiny island about 30 minutes off the coast of Danriga in Belize, Central America. The small island is walkable in about 5 to 10 minutes tops, and is placed basically right on top of the largest barrier reef in the Northern Hemisphere.
Known mostly to Belizean locals, the island is far less crowded than the more popular tourist spots in the Belize cayes. It's populated by a few family owned resorts and plenty of local homes.
So if you're wanting to beat the crowds yet still experience the islands and get a chance to go out diving, snorkeling, island hopping, or just sit back and relax and enjoy a cold Belikin beer in the sand, on the pier, or in a hammock strung up between two gorgeous tall palm trees - Tobacco Caye is the place!

I spent October 2006 through February 2007 traveling in Central America. I started in Belize and flew home from Panama. It was a fantastic trip and I look forward to returning to some favorite spots.
