Toast Lancaster Reviews
Best night out in Lancaster? Certainly the most popular Nov 22, 2008
Although Lancaster has quite a large student population, it's a small city and there are a lot of bars but not that many clubs. Toast is definitely the most popular there is for people aged 18-24. It's a small club, with two rooms, two bars, a different music style in each, and a VIP area upstairs which looks down over one of the rooms and is available for hire.
In Lancaster, toast is definitely the best place to cater for all different music tastes and has a great selection of events. Once a month there's a gay night, a "wi'fi" disco (silent disco) and a foam party. The drinks are cheap compared to a lot of places and there are all sorts of offers on such as two for £5 selected cocktails before 11pm.. and that sort of thing.
The only downfall for toast is its size means it's always crowded, and after 11pm there is always a long queue outside. They also really need to invest in some better air conditioning as it gets unbearably hot at times.
As a night out though it really tries to provide, in a room at the back off one of the main dance floor there are free games consoles with screens built in to the wall which are good fun, and there are often giveaways of drinks (mostly cheap champagne).
The style depends on the nights you go:
Monday - claims to be Lancasters "legendary" alternative night out, one room is indie disco while the other is rock and metal.
Tuesday - Student night
Wednesday - Urban chic
Thursday - Thirst: girls pay £5 to get in and then free drinks all night, all guys drinks are £1.50 ... (classy eh?)
Friday - Indie
Saturday - Mash hits - every song is on request.
