Here I put some tips for you if you are planning to go to Rome soon!
You'll must see the Vatican museum when you're in Vatican City! Please take your time to visit this museum with all it's glory and beautiful history, sculptures, fresco's etc. If you go on sunday the entrance is free but you'll not have the time to visit the whole museum. The queue's are terrible outside the entrance but also inside the museum it is to growded to see everthing good. Go to the museum during weekday and be there as early as possible! Why? You don't have to queu then! This counts aswell for the St. Peter's Basilic for the Capitula, the Church and the Tombes! Get your Coliseum tickets at the Palatine. At the Coliseum the queu's are terrible while the queu at the Palatine Hill ticket office is completely empty. TIP: bring a mirror with you! It is easier to look into the mirror then look all the time upwards. It saves a lot of neckache. Souvenirs; the cheapest souvenirs we founded was in the street when you walk from the metrostation OTTAVIANO S. PIETRO to the Vactican city! |

Go to the Vatican in the early morning. We arrived around 9AM and walked right through security with no wait. By the time we were at the top of the Cupola, the line was halfway around the square.
Get your Coliseum tickets at the Palatine. We were going to skip the Coliseum because the line was so long, so we wandered over to Palatine hill and found the ticket office there to be completely empty. Part of the Weekend Getaways travel blog |

Exploring Rome can be a bit of a headache and requires a tremendous amount of walking, although truly rewarding. The last sunday of each month one can tour the Vatican for free, visiting San Peter's and walking up the 312 steps is worth the trek as the view atop is splendid, the Colisseum is bigger than I'd imagined, and the Spanish steps makes for great ppl watching. I liked walking through the different piazzas at night because the fountains look even more dazzling during this time of day.......and I can't forget about the gelato...delicioso!

Again, they tacked on a 15% tip (they shouldn’t call it that " a tip is something voluntary!!!) and a 6 Euro cover charge. It would be nice to find a place where the price you see equals the price you end up paying. After dinner we went to the hotel… Vatican Museums, St. Peter's, Pantheon, Fontana di Trevi, Spanish Steps (and I grumble a bit) ;-) |

Here was one place that didn’t force the tip on you • unfortunately even without a guaranteed tip, the waiters weren’t very motivated to give good, friendly service.
After dinner we enjoyed the walk back to the hotel. This city is beautiful at any time of the day or night… Farewell to Carla (for now), St. Giovanni in Laterano, Scala Sancta... |

More than once one spun out of control and tipped over in the street, spilling vegetables everywhere. I also ran over my toes a couple times and have a little blood blister on the tip as a reminder. The next day we moved to Cannes , and the most exciting thing there was happening… Spain, France, Italy.. |

Its many tourists so a tip is to hit the sights early. Then we had time for a long lunch and coffee break. Some of the places we visited; St.Peters Church, Fontana di trevi, Piazza di Spagna, Colosseo, Piazza Navona and the beautiful Trastevere. Fontana di Trevi you must see in the night… Rome |

tip!
I was flabbergasted. My trip to Rome has been a thoroughly positive one, but this experience pissed me off big time.
While in the taxi I received a text message my colleague. Was I still in Rome? Was I ok? I didn't understand… Of earthquakes and rip offs |
