Tioman Vacation Guide

Tioman Island (locally known as Pulau Tioman) is a small island located 32 km off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia in the state of Pahang, and is some 39 km long and 12 km wide. Surrounded by magnificent coral reefs, Tioman is a popular diving destination for many diving enthusiasts all over Asia. Apart from its diverse marine life, the island boasts of its beautiful beaches, as well as its luscious inland rainforest, which encompasses approximately 12,383 hectares and is a strictly enforced nature reserve.

Legend has it that a dragon princess was taking a rest on the clear water of South China Sea while on her journey to visit her prince in Singapore. She got so enamored by the beauty of the sea, she took the form of the island and became a shelter for passing travelers.
