Tinos Island Reviews
The Island with Basic Lifestyle Mar 06, 2012
Tinos is another island that belongs to the so called Cycladic group of islands in Greece. Unlike other islands that belong to this group, Tinos is by far incomparable to the other islands belonging to the circle, in as much as tourism aspect is concerned. This is the island for those who live with basic lifestyles. The town is not so big and so simple. The port is so quiet.
The island has gorgeous beaches and unique villages, but these attractions do not intend the visitors to come for this purpose.
The other way around however, the island is well visited because of the miraculous healing icon of Mother Mary housed on an impressive and well preserved church called "Panagia Evangelistria".
Tinos is geographically located between Syros and Mykonos islands. The ports cater for ferries and high speed boats which carry passengers and cars to and from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Syros.
