Its hard to put into words my feelings about Vietnam. I leave with mixed emotions about a country with a rich heritage and tremendous potential. I had some truly amazing experiences, but my lasting impressions will be of a people that put money above all else... (ie China) In order to get a real feel for Vietnam, you MUST get off the Lonely Planet path. Its a watered-down experience to be honest. You're treated like a walking wallet. Get away from that scene and you'll see Vietnam...

I have to say what scum-bags at the Vietnamese border crossing station! if you are making an exit, be prepared to shell out another couple of dollars for... fuck if I know... an "exit ticket"?!?!?!?at least now we are just meters from home and feeling a sense of relief knowing that soon we would be back in a country that the "language barrier" would diminish greatly as we can at least speak and read enough Chinese to get along in everyday life.note: this border crossing (travel route...
