Tim Ho Wan
Tim Ho Wan Taipei Reviews
Fantastic Dim Sum opposite Taipei Main Station Feb 08, 2015
This restaurant is a branch / chain from the famous Tim Ho Wan restaurant in Hong Kong which has one Michelin award and pricewise is really cheap compare with other Michelin award restaurant anywhere around the world. The location is very good, practically opposite Taipei Main station.
We passed the restaurant a couple times a day on the way to and from our hotel to Taipei Main station and it always pack and many people queuing outside with 3 lines.
We were intrigue and decide to try the food at this restaurant.
The next day, we wake up early and already in front of the restaurant by 9.45 am (since restaurant open at 10 am). When we arrived, the queue already forming and we were the fourth or fifth in line.
Not long after (probably around five minutes standing), the restaurant door open and we were on the way inside. Early this time in the morning, the restaurant looks empty and not many people so we have leisure time to eat and enjoy the atmosphere. I order several different dishes as the dish were quite small. The food arrive on the table not long after. It looks nice like other dim sum I had eaten before. When I have a bite from each different dishes, I would swear, the food at this place is really delicious, hot from the kitchen (not ready made like other restaurant we been too – with the same Michelin award in Hong Kong) and everything is right – the texture, the taste, the meat filling. I could go on and on but one thing about this place, it live up to it is name and therefore people queueing outside.
Not long after, from our seat, we see the long queue already forming outside.
We dined twice at this place and take away once as we don’t want to queue. If you are in Taipei, make sure go to this place, it is worth it.
