Tijn Akersloot Zandvoort Reviews
Lousy service, pity! Oct 26, 2012
Zandvoort aan Zee is one of the most popular beach resorts in the Netherlands. The beautiful and long beaches are divided by the village centre in a North and south section. Both sections are blessed with many restaurants. Unfortunately most of them are only opened a part of the year. However, a few are opened all year round.
One of the permanent opened restaurants is "Tyn Akersloot". It can be found on the beach at the far end of the southern section. Recently the restaurant has had a rebuilding, which was for the better.
The restaurant serves average food for average prices. The best thing is the perfect view to beach and sea.
The fact that the competition for beach restaurants at Zandvoort in autumn and winter is minimalized seems to effect the staff at "Tyn Akersloot" in a negative way. We made a reservation for a group (original 25 persons, but due to unforseen circumstances 18 persons joined) and had a few wishes. These were no problem at all according to te management. But things sometimes end up another way than expected...
The service made by the staff was very unprofessional in many ways. To give a few examples: when ordering coffee tea was served (comment: I'm a sure you ordered tea!), side dishes as salad and french fries came after the meal, but only after pointing that we were still waiting for them, pizza's were burned (we always serve them this way!), empty water botles were not replaced, etc.
The bill was way over 1,000 euro, so you might have expected that staff would have done it's best to make the party a fine success. Alas, customer relations are hard to find at Tyn Akersloot.
Advise: a far better place is neighbouring Vooges, but unfortunately not opened in winter....
