Tiberias Vacation Guide

Tiberias is a city located on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee. It is Isreal's most popular holiday resort in the norhern part of the country. The city contains various hotels, and numerous resorts on the shores of the Sea of Galilee are within driving distance. Tiberias also has many opportunites for shopping as well as opportunities to sail on the Sea of Galilee. Tiberias has a special signifigance to chrisitians as Jesus began his ministry in the vicinity.

One of the popular things to do in town is to rent a bike and cycle over the mountains to reach the Church of the Beautitudes where Christ did his thing with the fish & loaves of bread. If all this sounds too much like hard work, there is a really cool water park there also which aside from waterslides, a bar and snack food, it also provides the experience to swim in the sea of Galilee (which of course you can do for free anywhere along the shore, but hey, they have slides and beer here).

There are many bars and restaurants in town to choose from also. The Lebanese restaurant had a lot of character especially considering the political tensions between both countries.
