Tiber River Reviews

well, in rome you can't miss coloseum, piazza venezia, piazza di espania, piazza di popolo, vatican and vatican's museum...etc
but my favorit is: Tiber - river Tiber and Ponte Sant'Angelo! Water of Tiber is green like emerald. There is long walkside by the river. Water is so peaceful and gives you some calmness. |

After embarking on many Open Top bus tours in many cities including London, Paris and Barcelona, those cities with rivers usually include a river cruise with your bus ticket. Even thought the cruise was on the bus map the cruise was additional at €10 per person.
The boat which has glass windows and roof was very hot(although the windows were opened slightly)and the seats were quite crammed. Due to flooding, a huge wall has been built on both sides of the river blocking out any views of the city and makes the river quite bland compared to others we have been on. Basically all we saw on the cruise was wall, bridges and the odd homeless camp along the banks. The commentary was first done in Itallian and then English and was very loud and just went on and on about the river and was not very interesting at all! We eventually both fell asleep out of boredom! Part of the Italy - 4th - 14th July 2007 travel blog

After this waste of time we walked pass the Ponte Umberto I, Ponte Sant’ Angelo and finally crossing the River Tiber at Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II which is a beautiful bridge with a lot of sculptures on. All the time we were walking along the river, we could see the Castel Sant’ Angelo also known as the Mausoleum of Hadrian. Castel Sant’ Angelo… Not even crooks and hustlers could stop us |

We turned towards River Tiber at Via Nicola Zabaglia passing Monte Testaccio. In antiquity, much of the Tiber River trade took place here, and the remains of broken clay vessels (amphorae) were stacked creating the artificial Testaccio hill, which today is a source of much archeological evidence as to the history… The Capuchin Crypt which displays the bones of over 4,000 Capuchin friars |

I also saw two wild river otters in
the Tiber River, which made me very excited since I love otters and have never
seen wild ones before. We also found the best and most reasonably-priced gelato
place yet—called Blue Ice on the road between St. Peter’s Square… Roma, Italy! |

I continued my walk across the river Tiber to the Trastevere area. While crossing the river it struck me how high the bridges and banks were, and how there was just no boat traffic on the river. Later I learned that the river is hard to navigate because of the rapids… Many happy re-encounters |

Cool restaurants and bars abound on the opposite side of the Tiber River to the Pantheon, near Isola Tiberina (don't know the name of the area though), and we spent a pleasant evening swanning around there.
Trevi Fountain is also worth seeing, though getting a camera shot off in the crowd is a skill in itself… Rome |
