Good location in the center of Inle Lake close to everything Jun 01, 2017
We reach Inle Lake late in the afternoon after arriving by train from Kalaw, we should be there ealier but due to train delayed in Kalaw we arrived at 5:45 pm. Is a total of three and a half hour trip with beautiful views on the way. From railway station to the center of Inle is quite a distance, and on the way you'll be stopped by at the check point for Inle Lake pass of 12.000 kyat each only payable in cash kyat or dollars. A tuktuk taxi cost 10.000 kyat for a whole ride ( not per person) we're lucky to share with one traveler on the train.

The taxi dropped us on the hotel, is not a very nice hotel when you see outside, the brown building is not impressive. While doing my research for hotels in Inle I came to this place with good reviews and ratings of 8.6 from travelers. I always read first reviews and see the ratings before I made the bookings. I don't book a room if ratings below 7, it can happen that some hotel got hight ratings but the room is not worth, if I understood this count to hotel personeel and not for the room only. At it has a good reviews and so as other websites, I book the room at Agoda as it was slightly cheaper

When we get inside unlikely to other hotels where we stay in Myanmar, this place is worst the front desk is messy no arrangement, I can't understand why this hotel has high ratings. The owner is the one who managed the place, is friendly and knowledgeable he knows a lot of stuff about Inle if you want to know anything about the place he explains very well. At first I find him a weird man but after you get to know him he's good

Check-in? we don't need to do that he give a registration form for fill up later he jsut want to know our passport number, when we arrived he took us straight to our room and explain everything, around the area, room door must closed all the time because of mosquitoes, tap water is not drinkable and so on. He's good and very concern of his guests

No elevator, we had our room on the first floor we're so lucky, but is only a three storey building, but still, if you carry a heavy suitcase it isn't easy through a stairway. Anyway, he is the one carrying our luggage to our room, he seems to be a strong man

The room is not so bad for the price of 19$ we have two beds with clean sheets that's very important. In the room we had- minibar, airconditioning, coffee, kettle, free bottle of water, seating area, television, closet with hangers, slippers and a small balcony facing to a messy garden. Is a pity it looks a nice garden if they cleaned

They clean the room everyday and put new bottles of water. Even on the last day although we had a late check out they still came to make up room and change towels daily

Bathroom is clean with shower ( no shower cabin) two showers spray small and big and with hot water. Toiletries and hairdryer available

Breakfast is included in the room rate, you can choose from the card - pancakes, bread, eggs, fresh fruits, coffee or tea. The dining area is very small so it can happen that you have to wait till there's a table free if you come between 7-8 in the morning. Tours are mostly starts at 8 am so if you came around 7 this is a busy time

The hotel also arranged tours to the lake in reasonable price, we didn't use other operator - we book our trip to the lake inside the hotel, they have their own contact boats. They charged 18.000 kyat for Inle Lake tour you can shared with other people. The boat capacity is for five people you can share the price but on our last day we wanted to charter the boat alone because we want to be back early in town

And we're lucky to go to Sankar lake on the first day there is a French couple staying in the hotel with two kids they want to go Sankar lake and they want to shared with other people the normal price was 65.000 kyat for the boat and we only had to pay 20.000 kyat for the two of us. Sankar Lake is about three hours from donwtown of Inle and this really worth to see while in town

As we had a night bus to Yangon on the last day, we asked for a late cheked-out. They charge for late checked out only 5000 kyat and they arrange a transporation for you. As we already had a bus ticket they arrange our transport to the bus station, is something that good in this place doing everything to help you

My conclusion of this hotel - price is very cheap and it has a helpful management which is most important in the business, we're gone a whole day on tour we only came back late in the afternoon so we didn't spent much time inside the room. The free wifi isn't working very well, in the morning is a good time to use the wifi but in the evening the internet is dead. They has bicycles for rent for 1000 kyat a day, a nice thing to explore the center with bike although walking can be a good thing too. You will notice in your room there is pricelist of massage and spa, but it ain't cheap. The hotel also do laundry, buy we haven't done it, I do the laundry and it doesn't anything lol.

We are so lucky to see Sankar Lake. Otherwise is 65.000 kyat for the boat only I don't take I'll spent so much money on that. We pay our share for 20.000 kyat, is a bargain. It is beautiful but is a long trip and we stucked a few times there the water level is very low, so Didier has to help the boatmen
