Three Monkeys Bar
Three Monkeys Bar Lagos Reviews
A steamin' rockin' party bar! Jan 19, 2009
Whichever way you look at it, partying and bar-hopping is the number one activity in Lagos.
The place is very well equipped for this as there are bars all over.
One place that stood out for me was the British-owned Three Monkeys bar, which is connected to the Monkey House Hostel (see separate review).
As many other places this is a genuine party place. If you’re looking for quiet conversation this is not the right address for that but if you want a good anything goes kind of bar you will have a great time here.
Well, almost anything goes. There is a friendly but unrelenting doorman watching over the crowd.
It’s not a very large place with a small hall where the doorman is usually situated.
To the left in the bar itself are several computers where you can hop on the internet. There’s a long bar and in the back pool can be played.
The music played is mostly rock with the occasional reggae or folk tune weaved through.
All the expected drinks are available, with beer from as little as 1 euro a bottle and some cocktails for 3,50 between 7 and 11pm.
Bar staff are part of the party and shots are highly likely as is dancing on the bar.
Occasionally absinth is used to set the bar ablaze.
It’s open year round from 4pm ‘till 2 am.
