Thongbay Guesthouse in Vientiane, Laos is a nice place to spend a few nights in this quiet city. I like the traditional Lao house design of this guesthouse where you can enjoy a relaxing evening with your Beer Lao at the second level after a day's tour of the city.

It is located a few kilometers from the centre but it is just a short tuk-tuk ride. The staff are friendly too and accommodating.

For the price of $20 per night, to me it was worth it.
