I don't know what sort of things you like, but here are some random ideas from an almost-Londoner:

* All 'major' museums are free (Thank you Ken Livingstone - London's Mayor). Check out the Natural History Museum (as seen in Disney's 'One of our dinosaurs is missing' ;P).

* Whilst you're near the Natural History Museum, go to the Science Museum too.

* Also free is the British Museum, which is huge, and a lot grander than the other two (and a bit more aloof)

* Visit tourist areas of interest: China Town, Covent Garden etc

* Visit Non-tourist areas: Go on the tube out beyond Zones 1-2. The Western end of the Met line (Chesham, Amersham etc) are somewhat more rural, whilst the Eastern end of the Central Line has Epping Forrest

A Bit more expensive:

Go on a London Duck Tour (google for 'London Duck Tours' :) ) It's a well spent £17 (seventeen quid in the local lingo)

Hope this helps!

Tips from a full Londoner.. (tee hee, beat you Greg!)

Come North!

*Camden Market is great for the experience (very varied mix of people, punks, goths, young professionals, tourists, everyone!) and brilliant shopping - always barter with the stall owners to get a lower price!

*From Camden take a walk along Regent's Canal. You can walk West to Little Venice which is beautiful (near Paddington) and the canal path leads you through the middle of London Zoo so if you are lucky you can see the animals being fed. On the way you can stop off at Primrose Hill and enjoy a cold beer in any of the lovely pubs nearby. If you go East from Camden down the canal you go through a more urban landscape, but pass a few really great riverside pubs on your way to Angel and on a sunny day people all come down and just hang out. If you walk / cycle ALL the way East on the canal you end up at Mile End where there is a rock climbing centre which is very cheap with an outside wall - so fots your outside activities too!

***** Sunset on Parliament Hill******
An absolute must for anyone and everyone. At the south side of Hampstead Heath Parliament Hill rises up over London, and as the sun sets the whole city is laidf out like a chess board before you, you can see the London Eye, Parliament, St Paul's Cathedral all slowly illuminated by the golden dying rays of of the day's sun. It is absolutely breathtaking.

Other things to see...

*Borough Market (London Bride Tube)
An absolute must for foodies, it is filled with organic produce from amazing breads to whole rooms of cheeses and everyone has free tasters on their stalls - if you like that sort of thing you can basically get a free lunch by just eating all the free samples!

*Buckingham Palace
Pretty awe inspiring, and a good thing to have seen.

* London Eye
Absolutely great on a clear day, fantastic views and a good way to get an idea of the size of the city! For a sneaky alternative book it for the last session at about 9.45pm and see London all lit up at night - really beautiful.

*For a chilled day and maximum laziness get an open top bus tour. Sound naff but are actually great especially if you have a friend to go with. Make a packed lunch, maybe even a book, and just chill for the day. you can jump on and off whenever, and they always tell you cool facts about stuff that no-one else knows (well, that I dont know anyway!)

Hope that helps! There are also some brillliant cheap restaurants all over London if you have a wander around. If you want any recommendations let me know! x
