Beautifully artistic Cowboy Boots May 13, 2010
"These Boots are Made for Talking," was a fundraising project of the Cheyenne Depot Museum Foundation in 2004. Several local artists were given free reign to pain whatever they desired on these very oversized cowboy boots. Based on the poster, which is still available at the Depot Museum, there were a total of 26 of the huge boots. Several of these eight-foot tall cowboy boots were placed in and around downtown Cheyenne in the summer of 2004. All of the boots were auctioned off for the fundraising effort so only a portion still remain where they can be seen throughout the city. In the spring and summer of 2005, seventy-five additional examples of boot-art were placed on display, but this second wave of boots were life-sized -- only 16 inches tall!
