The two most important cities by far are Rome and Florence. (Florence probably has 30% of all of the art in Italy). After that, I think you should spend a couple days in Milan, Venice, Naples, and Bari.Milan is a modern city and is cool for shopping and seeing the life of the city.. but not as good for art as the other cities. Bari is a southern city and also doesn't have as much art as Venice, Florence, or Rome. You should also try day-trips to Pisa and Fiesole (near Florence). Viareggio and Forte Dei Marme are two amazing northern beaches, but be prepared to spend $50 for two chairs because beaches in Italy are not public. I think Tourin is pretty much worthless, maybe good just for a day of looking around. Pisa is not worth more than a few hours. Let me know if you need more details..
