This should be a tourist attraction! May 03, 2011
The direct road from Treasure Beach to Malvern is in totally crazy bad shape. It is in so bad shape that it should be a tourist attraction. The craziest part is that there are no danger signs or anything.
The first part of the road is not something special, especially when you like us have been driving the whole island around and driven on bad road condition everywhere except the north coast where the Danish company Pihl has built the roads.
After the first couple of places where the road is washed away you say; okay that was not so bad, but it just gets completely crazy when you hit the steeper parts. The road is taking you from the coast to Malvern in 750 meters height.
At one place we stopped and asked 3 guys smoking ganja if the road was meant to be like that and if it was possible to continue. Yeah go on, man - we believe in you, was their answer but take it easy!
It was like it was a race – we just laughed so much.
We continued and finally made it. It was worth it, not just for the fun but also for the fabulous views.
