Afternoon Tea with a difference... Jul 13, 2012
Afternoon tea is not for everyone, though if you find you are one of them that wants the experience, I recommend having it at The Yacht London. This is a restaurant on a boat at Temple Pier, Victoria Embankment.

The reason I went here for afternoon tea was because I didn't want the standard afternoon tea in a hotel. The views on the boat were amazing on a bright sunny day. They also had flowering tea (a bulb that when hot water is poured onto it it turns into a flower infront of your eyes!), which sets itself apart from other afternoon tea venues. The decor was minimalistic, but added a touch of a class. I paid £25 which is on par with most prices of afternoon tea.

The only downside I think people might find is the gentle rocking of the boat, which I can imagine to be unpleasant on a windy day - might be unsettling for some, especially while eating. Overall it was a nice experience, and definitely different to the other afternoon tea locations spotted around London.
