They constantly run the backpackers meal deal there. $12 Aussie dollars gets you a 300g steak, vegetables, and small beer. Excellent!!

There is plenty of seating downstairs and upstairs (or on the balcony!). The music was a great mix of rock and pop with music videos.

Plenty of people coming an going so striking up a conversation is easy. Mostly younger crowd of 18-30 are around but I did not feel out of place. This is a travelers hangout besides a locals fun place.

Geared towards the younger crowd this bar is high energy with contests, music and several bars. Full of local dive instructors and backpackers this is the perfect way to wrap up a day! Dancing on tables, drinks and a few areas for conversation centered in the downtown area of Cairns. Buses and cabs run directly to the area and can be easily accessed from many of the local hostels. If you are looking for a good time where you can meet like minded travelers looking for a fun and occasionally wild way to spend a night look no further than the Woolshed!

The woolshed in Cairns is one of the best places to slurp up some frothy beverages with the locals. Cairns in general is a second home for backpackers and tourists of all kinds. This place is very quaint, with a restaurant on the bottom floor and the bar/nightclub on the upper level. Once the dinner rush is over all hell breaks loose in this place, which is one of the craziest bars that I have ever been to. They have a pretty good sized dance florr with tables all over the second floor that people are encouraged to dance on and believe me they do! During the week they have many different events from free alcohol to wet t-shirt contests. All and all it is a great place to visit when in Cairns!
