The White House Inn Woodstock Reviews
Dinning with the president - almost Sep 27, 2013
We happen to drop in to this place since our GPS decides to put us at the back entrance to Blenheim Palace. Since we decide not to pay the £22 per person entrance fee we find the option off parking at the parking lot at the White House a good option. So we have lunch here and walk to the palace after lunch.
The food is pretty standard pub food - but it seems like this pub tries to put itself off as more of a wine establishment than a regular pub. They have different kind of offers of wine at sort of reasonable prices. But this is the UK - so I am not falling for the attempt to sell wine - I just go for good old fashion British ale to accompany the food.
The place is pretty quite so the food arrives within a reasonable time and the fish and chips are nice and hot - though people in Britain really don’t do veggies very well so that’s a bit of a downer on the meal in general.
We are sitting indoor at the window with a decent view of the street. But they do have outdoor service as well and when leaving us kind of regretting not sitting outside since the sun really came out during the time we spent in the pub eating.
