Good Time Place in Belize Feb 17, 2009
Though not real busy in the middle of the afternoon, this joint looks like a "happening" place!  Wanting to experience some good food in Belize, the Wet Lizard Restaurant came highly recommended by our daughter who had visited previously on her honeymoon.  With an appetite from snorkeling, we decided to give it a try.The restaurant is easy to find from the cruise ship tender dock - just look to the left.  Once you climb the stairs, you will come across the "specials" board.  Just look at some of the offerings.  Everything from tables and chairs to walls and decor is brightly painted and full of visitors' signatures and dates.  We added ours to the ceiling above our table just to document the occasion! We were looking for local dishes and weren't disappointed with the selections on the menu.  You can order fresh fish, conch fritters, coconut shrimp, fresh lobster, Belezean Rice and Beans, and wonderful chips and salsa.  The bar offers beer (Belikin is the local brew - a $2.00 bargain), tropical rum punch, fruit juices, a Wet Lizard favorite - The Iguana Stud, and much, much more!  You definitely won't go thristy! The saying - Take a Brew with a View! The food was very good and the drinks were cold!  And great service!  A must stop while in Belize!  While you are there look for our signature!
