High Price for Low Low Deal- Westin St. John (Cruz Bay) Jul 31, 2011
My friends and I went there in February, one of them were getting married. We all had seperate rooms. Me and couple of others had the Ocean View which we barely could see from the room since we're on the bottom floor. The Landscaping was very nice. They put a lot of work into it. There's always someone working out in the gardens. You'll see at least 10 Iguanas a day..no kidding! The pool is nice and big. But there are so many more downfalls and disappointments. First we paid almost $350 per room per night. Second, the food was way too expensive and not so good (and we're no picky eaters). Third, our bathrooms were so disgusting..our toilet didn't flush; our sink didnt drain, the handle broke off, our tub didn't drain; we left the room every day but every time we come back our toilet was still dirty (nasty)!!
Four, The dude (this one guy in particular I think it's Eric) at the Concierge desk would call us non stop to try and sell us the stupid Villa. Five, we're not kidding, there were no mosquitoes in any of our rooms, we got huge flash lights and we had allll the lights on and tried to find what was biting us all night every night..we found nothing. Then one of the people we met on the island who came from Florida who's a doctor saw the spots we had on our legs (only legs and torso) he said "whoa..somebody got bed bug bites!!" he wasn't kidding! Six, we've phones front desk, manager, and their mothers telling about our problems from day one, with bathroom, the service at the restaurant, the everything..but nothing was done about it! We dreaded going back to our rooms. We're not the whiney types..but these were uncool. We paid a lot of good money! Well..we decided to move out on the 3rd day ourselves and got rooms at Mooney Bay Estate on the Virgin Gorda since there's no rooms left at the time on USVI. It was worth the move. It was so nice!!No more bed bugs, people were friendly, food was good! So were the drinks! Nobody returned our calls from The Westin, nothing in the mail! Nada!

No need to think twice. If you have the means, go. Great resort pool. Excellent tennis courts. Kids club to entertain the little ones for a fee. Great food. Easy water taxi directly to and from the resort.
