The Westin Palace Hotel Madrid

For my trip to madrid my hotel of choice was the Westin palace. The hotel is nothing short of sheer elegance. I was blown away by the architechture and decor. Built in 1912 it has a very old, royal feel to it. My stay here was excellent, the staff was helpful and friendly, the rooms were amazing, food from the restaurants was good but my favorite part of the hotel is the fact that it is in the city center with everything you need in walking distance. The Prado museum is literally across the street, the metro a few blocks up, retiro park, plaza mayor, reina sofia art center, just about all the popular sites cafes, restaurants and museums are within walking distance. I actually had a celebrity siting the weekend I was there. Reggie Bush running back for the new orleans saints was staying there that same weekend and we ran into him in the lobby which was unexpected. All in all the hotel is a bit expensive but if you have some extra bucks and want to treat yourself to some comfort and luxury this is the place for it.
