The Westin Hotel Aruba Palm Beach Reviews
Great view on the beach! Apr 24, 2012
The Westin Hotel in Aruba is a very nice and pleasant hotel. It may look a bit boring on the outside and not as pretty as e.g. the Riu Hotel (The Westin looks a bit like a flat), but it is actually very convenient, all balconies have great ocean view and it provides shadow on the pool side, especially in the morning.
Staff was very friendly and willing to help at all times. The rooms were spacious, clean and the bed was really great! There was an in-room Starbucks coffee maker, which was a nice surprise.
The pool was well looked after and it has some "waterfalls" and fountains. Close to a bar where the serve drinks and food. The hotel has their own part of the beautiful white beach, which is kept clean by the staff.
They had al kinds of activities for children and adults, there is a casino, atm, spa and several restaurants. The prices at the restaurants felt expensive, but were actually average for Aruba. I thought Aruba was not very cheap, Western European pricing.
The location of the Westin Hotel was perfect. At the beginning of Palm Beach, near the boulevard and a bus stop just in front of the hotel. Also car rental was no problem, there was a Hertz car rental office in the hotel. Parking place was free of charge.
I also loved the breakfast. They had almost everything: Waffles, omlets, fruit, bacon, bagels, croissants, cereal and so on. They also serve 6 kinds of juices.
As like in the rest of Aruba, the guests at this hotel are mainly American. Not a lot of European, African or Asian guests. It is also very much focussed on American guests. the News papers and their News letter was mainly American. But that was fine with us. It gave us the feeling we were further away from home (the Netherlands). The Westin was not too busy and crowded like other hotels (like Riu, Hyatt and the Marriot).
There were only a few minor things we did not really like. We had to wait a long time for the elevator (eventhough there were four). That was a bit annoying sometimes. The casino was not that spectacular. Nice for a little while but not more than that.
Overall, I really recommend the Westin Hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and I would got there again.
