Shiny Balls Apr 06, 2010
One thing that I found funny was the shining balls of the bull; according to the rumour rubbing the balls with your hand should bring luck, and stockbrokers would probably have to rub them thoroughly these days.

The Wall Street Bull is a popular tourist destination, which draws thousands of people a day. It is a 3,200 kg bronze sculpture made by the artist Arturo Di Modica and stands in Bowling Green Park near Wall Street.

The oversize bull is supposed to be the symbol of aggressive financial optimism and prosperity, leaning back on its haunches and with its head lowered as if ready to charge.

The work was designed and placed so that viewers could walk around it, which also suggests the creature's own movement is unrestricted.

Today the bull is one of the most iconic images of New York.
