Very nice hotel Aug 26, 2014
In the monument valley region there are two hotels. I believe that this hotel is the nicer of the two hotels. In this hotel, you are already in monument valley park. This hotel also only has rooms facing the two mittens so you can always see the mittens no matter where in the hotel you are placed. Even though this hotel does not have a pool, you do not need a pool. Near the hotel is a few different hiking and driving paths to explore the region. The hotel also has breakfast and dinner because there are no restaurants in the monument valley region.

rooms with a View! Jan 07, 2012
I could see Monument Valley and its dramatic Mittens formation from the hotel balcony, which is precisely why the hotel is called “The View”. The rooms are all located on one side as is the restaurant so that everyone gets to see the spectacular landscapes.

The property is owned and operated by Navajo family for the purpose of creating jobs and thus preserving the Navajo Nation culture. This 90-room hotel is new and it is the very first accommodation to be built inside the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.

Because this hotel is only 5 years in operation, I would say every single furniture or room accessory from beds to pillows to the television set, etc. are still in very good shape. Every corner of the room as well as the bathroom was very clean.

The hotel lobby is decorated with American Indian motif. The huge fire place in the middle of the lobby gave a cozy feel.

Breakfast is not included in the room rate but there is a restaurant, also with a magnificent view but we didn’t enjoy the breakfast meal. I will post a separate review for the restaurant later.

Next to the restaurant is a trading post where all sorts of American Indian souvenirs can be purchase. A 10% discount of the total purchase is offered for all guests in the hotel.

WI-FI connection was quite slow inside our room but not in the lobby. There is but only 1 available computer in the lobby for guests to use.

The reception office was quite compact; only two receptionists at a time can work in that small space so I could imagine a slow traffic when a crowd of guests check-in or check –out at the same time. I hope they've upgraded the reception area.

Despite the few “thumbs down”, I still would want to stay again.

I wish we had more time to stay at The View hotel and explore the Monument Valley. Its balconies open to stunning view of the valley, and there was plenty to discover, but we were set out onto the next leg of our journey. I found the hotel lobby warm and unique due to its Native American décor complete with Navajo Rugs and Hopi Kachinas. They also show westerns there, and as there is not much night entertainment happens in the area it is very considerate of administration. The food is hardly impressive though, especially for vegetarians. The best menu feature is the famous fry bread with honey
