The Vee Clogheen Reviews
Amazing scenery Mar 19, 2011
So, you're in South Tipperary, full tank in the rental car, but alas... you've spent all your euros on Guinness! This is an amazing FREE thing to do!
The Vee is in the Knockmealdown mountains, where, millions of years ago, a great big glacier scooted around and left a lovely valley in its wake, complete with a cory lake!
Just drive up the twisty roads, around the hair pin bends and enjoy the view! Just don't hit any sheep!
There are also some religious artefacts to see up here... some medieval monks cells and a high cross.
The walkdown to Bay Lough is lovely, but bring walking shoes/boots as the path is uneven. Its also pet friendly... just keep your dog on its leash (again, sheep issues!)
And when you're done, pop down into Clogheen village and buy some local Bay Lough cheese, or head over the other side of the moutain to Lismore, for more amazing scenery!
